I think there’s a good chance that absolutely nothing will get accomplished as it relates to the government’s potential health care revamping effort. It would be great if a bill got passed that both sides of congress agreed on, but let’s get real, they can’t agree on anything, so why should we expect them to agree on an issue as polarizing as health care?? So instead of sitting there and waiting for the government to do something about health care and its ever increasing costs, get up and jog while you wait! Take this crisis into your own hands and do your part by making yourself healthier!
The poor condition of the health care system isn’t rooted in the government, it’s rooted in the poor health of the average American. It’s rooted in the poor health of the average American who finds any excuse not to exercise. It’s rooted in the poor health of the average American who who never bothers to read food labels. It’s rooted in the poor health of the average American who is looking for the quick fix or the latest cleanse/starvation diet that ultimately reduces net metabolism despite quick a weight loss.
John F. Kennedy was famous for saying, “Ask not what your country can do for you! Ask what you can do for your country.” Do this for your country. Do it for YOU. Make yourself healthier by eating better and exercising more. IMAGINE how much less heart disease and diabetes there would be. IMAGINE how much more efficient the work place would be without all the sick days taken. IMAGINE looking at a healthier, happier you in the mirror.
America is a good and strong place that has in the past been able to overcome crises by banding together as we did during WWII, and the days and months following 9/11. If we can all band together this time by taking basic steps to increase the collective health of America, then in the future we can all look back and feel proud that we did what was necessary to uplift and empower America during such a dark, and tumultuous time. So if we can all consistently lessen the amount of food on our plates, we in turn lessen the amount on the government’s plate as well. I’m sure we can all agree that the government has enough on it’s plate. In a dining room where the people sitting at the table can’t do anything but argue with the people sitting on the other side.
Let’s lighten the load both literally and figuratively speaking for ourselves and our country. Let’s be patriotic by adopting healthier habits and encouraging those around us to adopt those habits as well. What have we got to lose? I’ve done the math and it’s a win/win situation every time. Now it’s your turn ;)
